So much German cooking!

Before we went to bed last night, Julia, Hannah and I went running through the snow barefoot. The rest of the night we watched 'Das super talent'... it is amaying what they are actually allowed to show on German television. Afterwards, we made a list of things we need to see and so while I stay with the family.

This morning I woke up at around 9am and had a shower, the usual.
Soon after, 3 of us were awake and we all ate breakfast together. Bread rolls with ham and cheese. :)
We hung around the house a bit and Julia went training for athletes. Julia's mother and I went wlaking with the dog, Miak and Julia's trainer. We didn't walk very far, but it was nice.

We came home and I asked if I could help out by shovelling the snow off the foot path. It was a bit tiring, but good. It started snowing a lot after I was finished, so my efforts were ruined within a few hours.

Later on, Julia asked me if I wanted to walk to their aunty's house because she hadn't had the chance to say happy birthday earlier, she tried to drag me in the sled, but failed because her footwear wasn't thick enough and didn't have grip. Just as we were walked away from the house, Julia's boyfriend came so he walked with us to Julia's aunty's house. We went and said hello, she had made marzipan chocolates and biscuits, they were sooo yummy. Her boyfriend had a CD of metal christmas music on, it was really good too.

We walked home and I sat in the kitchen with everyone else. We said goodbye to Molly's father and he caught the train to the airport in Frankfurt.

After a while, Julia's mother started cooking dinner and my mother had sent me a recipe for her christmad biscuits, so I made those but I got a bit confused by the conversions from cups to litres and ml. They ended up with too much almond in them and yes... I will make them again properly when I get the chance. Christiane decided to call them, 'Australian, Greek, German biscuits.'

We also made carmelised, roasted almonds like the ones that they sell at the christmas markets in Germany. The were easy to make and taste soooo good.

I also got my postcards writing done for Christmas, but I still have about 10 to buy and write.

We ate a stew sort of thing, with these odd German potatoes. It is like they mashed potato and make a ball out of it, but it is sticky... I didn't like them last time, but they were good this time.
We are now just watching television and sitting together.
