German schooling and chocolate.

Before we went to bed last night, Julia suggested it would be fun if we ran outside in the snow barefoot... So that's what the both of us did. I took off my 'glücklich socken' and ran screaming through the street, freezing cold with Julia. Her aunty that lives next door told us that she heard the two of yelling in the street last night.

I set my alarm this morning and woke up without any problems. I seem to be able to do that in Germany, but not in Australia... I got to open my advent calendar gift and I got grey eyeshadow. :)

When Julia and I left the house, it was still dark. We walked to the train station and caught the train with a friend that lives in the village. The trains in Germany are heated and so nice to sit in when it is snowing outside. We get off only after about 3 or 4 stops to get to school and then we have to walk about 10 minutes to the school buliding.

I had bilingual politics for the first 2 periods, we spoke about asian vs. western values and adopting the values of the country that you visit or choose to live in.
Afterwards, we had English and I knew the teacher from my previous exchange, it was quite funny when she came up to me, grabbed my face and said 'TAIGA, TAIGA, TAIGA!'
The other students where writing about a movie that they had watched in class and I helped translate some of the sentences for them and word them correctly.

We had a short break and then we had a double class of religion. The students were giving presentations about different religions and in our group, Julia decided to get me to read out all of the different religions in the world. I was a bit worried about pronouncing them incorrectly, but I think I got them all correct.

School finished at 1.10pm and Julia and I walked to the train station. It was freezing cold, today it was nearly -10 degrees.
When we got home, Julia went horse riding and I got warm and helped tidy the house because Molly's father was coming to visit. When he got here, we all drank tea and had a conversation about our time in Germany and other things. I got to work as a translator because it was so hard for the family to understand his accent and sometimes just English in general, so I translated everything into German. We also had dinner together, we had a 'german style' stir-fry as I like to call it. It had purple carrots in it, which I had never eaten before.

At about 8pm, I went to pick up Hannah from her athletes training. I listened to Nirvana in the car with their dad and I also now know what it's like to do a U-turn on an icy road... It is like doing a donut, but you stop... It is actually a lot of fun, even though it feels like the car is completely out of control.
In the village or city where Hannah trains, there is a Ferrero factory and they make Kinder chocolate there. You can smell the factory from miles away and it smells a bit like burning plastic.

Here is a photo of the watch I bought, it is a 'painter's watch' and has paint brushes as arms.

I didn't get the chance to take any photos today, but tomorrow I am going into the city after school and also to the Christmas market in Marburg.
