Last night, before we all went to bed. Molly wanted to go in the snow barefoot... I know, it seems like we do it every night. Here are some photos of us dying in the cold.
We caught the train to school and it was completely dark. It wasn't overly cold today though, it was actually 2 degrees at one stage. We walked to school from the train station and then went to class.
Our first class was German and the teacher was really nice. They spoke abotu non-verbal language, but most of it I didn't understand very well, the students speak soooo fast in class.
Straight afterwards, we had Maths and that was fairly boring because we don't reall get to do anything in that class.
We had a few minutes break and then 2 periods of Art. Art class is very different to in Australia. Students often present information about artists or they work on their paintings. The art department in the school is quite small, because it is not a major subject. This time, we got to work on our painting. It was my first class, so I helped Molly with her watercolour painting and we got it finished. The German teachers seem so strict, especially the art teacher. He looks like a stern German man, but he was sort of nice... The art teacher gave a lot of instruction and told you want to do with you artwork, which I am not used to. I asked if we could use ink with the painting and he got some for us and gave us old calligraphy pens... I am used to using brushes with ink... Molly and I tried to use these pen from the 1800's and sort of got it right...
After that class, I was finished with school for the day and it was only 11.10am. :)
Molly also had 3 periods free, so we went into the city together and got lunch. Currywurst is the best EVER!
We also did a bit of shopping... We found Hannah a Hannah Montana advent calendar and bought it for her. I bought some paint, a new pen and an eraser. I also bought 12 postcards and stamps for them... Now to write them...
When Molly had to go back to school, I continued to walk around the city and explore. I walked through the market place where the town hall is and they have a small christmas market too.
I had seen this record store previosly, but I had never had the chance to go inside of it. Downstairs it has normal CD's and a few records, but upstairs there is like a record lounge and lots of second hand books. It was like heaven and I plan on going back there a few times. I bought 4 cheap records just to make bowl out of for christmas presents.
I couldn't be bothered catching a bus to the train station, so I decided to walk there because it isn't very far. This is the Lahn river that runs through Marburg and some graffiti on the side of the walkway.
I caught the bus back to our village and walked to the house. When I got home, Julia's mum had used my mum's recipe to make Macaroni Cheese. It tasted really good too.
After a while, one of the neighbours came over and caught up with Julia's mum. She was also knitting socks... I love knitting and socks, so both of them said that they might teach me how to make them in a few weeks. We are hopefully going to buy wool soon. :)
I started writing my postcards, but there are over 12 and it is so tiring.
Hannah was home and we had to walk Miak, so we only walked him short way. There is a lot of snow near the train line and we jumped in it a lot until we were knee deep. My pants and shoes were completely soaked. Then Hannah had the genius idea of taking our shoes off and running back to the house barefoot... I forgot that I had a pair of stocking on, but I did it anyway. It was about 200 or more metres away and freeeeezing! It was fun though.
After a while, Julia came home with their Oma and we all sat together om the couch. Another one of the neighbours came over because the 6th of December is when Saint Nicolas comes to visit. While we were waiting, Julia's dad got stuck in Paul's hair and their dog Paul decided to be adventurous and come into the lounge room. We came home and I collapsed on the stairs, freezing to death.

Finally after all of us our waiting, Saint Nicolas came to the house and gave us all presents! I got pretty purple legs warmers and we each got bit of chocolate and a mandarin...
At home when I was little, Saint Nicolas used to come asweel, but we never got to see the man himself. It was a nice experience.

Julia's Oma also left us all presents and everyone got blankets, but I got a lovely German planner for next year because a blanket would have been too hard to bring home to Australia.
Their aunty also came over and gave me carmelised almonds and told us that the one we made yesterday were wrong... We are making them again soon.
I forgot to say that yesterday I got a cute heart decoration in my advent calendar.
