New Years Eve.

I woke up at about 11am becuase I was so tired from the night before. I hung around the house all day and helped clean a bit. I cleaned all of the windows with Paul, inside and out. We used half a bottle of spray all together. Hannah came home at about 12pm or later, because she spent the whole night at a bakery, baking bread for new years.

We got everything ready, moved some funiture and relaxed the rest of the day.

A bit later on, some family friends came over to drop off some supplies and then left.

Before 6pm, I walked to church with Hannah. They are Evangelisch, and Hannah has to go to church every so often because she has her communion next year. There weren't many people there and it wasn't it in proper church becuase that one is being repaired. The Father/Minister was little bit strange, but it was okay in the end. Hannah and I walked home through the village and it was freezing.

Between 7 and 8pm, 3 other families came over. We ate after 8pm, had this lovely looking little sandwiches and then ate lots of bread, salads and schnitzel. I sat with them all and had champange to celebrate, then I walked over the where Julia was celebrating with her friends.

We hung out in the family's caravan in the villages garden. It smelt a bit like petrol, but it wasn't cold or anything. We listened to music and had chocolate fondue. There were a lot of streamers hanging around.

Just before 12am, we went out to near the house and met with everyone. There was a unbelievable amount of fireworks let off, it continued for our 40 minutes. Firworks are legal in Germany between the 28th of Dec and the 1st of Jan. I said happy new years to everyone and then let off some fireworks myself with the help of Julia's dad's cigarette. It was a lot easier than using a lighter.

I walked back to the caravan with the other girls and we spent the next few hours there, talking and listening to music. Eventually after 2am, we walked some of the other girls home and then wandered through the village. One of the girls fell over and hurt her face on the snow, so we stopped off at home to see how bad it was.

I sat with the family and then ended up staying at the house while the girls went back. I danced lots and then ate a bit. Everyone was a little bit tipsy, so it was quite funny. We all sat back down at the table and at about 4am, everyone started to leave. We got to bed at about 5am.
