Today was quite lazy at first. I set about 10 alarms before I went to bed the night before, so I knew I would wake up. I got up at about 10am and walked around, everyone else was still in bed. Paul was being read to, so I went back to sleep for a bit.
I got up around 11am and we were planning on going skiing, but it was too dangerous to drive on the roads. Julia stayed in bed a bit longer and then we all had breakfast together. There was a lot of new year's bread around the house, becuase everyone got it as a gift from some relatives the day before. We ate that and then spent more time around the house.
Julia and I decided to go into Frankfurt for the rest of the day and we caught our train at 12.40pm. We walked to the train and it wasn't raining anymore, so that was nice. We caught the train and it wasn't too full, so that was nice. We got seats and sat there for the next 1.4 hours to Frankfurt.
We got to the main station and had to catch the S-bahn to the city. We walked around the shops a little bit and tried to find Julia a jacket. I ended up getting a nice scarf that was on sale and some lovely woolen socks... We walked around some more and really just shopped for the rest of the day. We went to Zara 3 times during our visit there, I think it was on the 2nd trip that I found some really nice boots. Julia finally bought a jacket on our 3rd trip there and was happy with it. We visited some more shops and I got some jeans for my sister becuase everything is seriously cheaper here than in Australia.
We started heading back after 5pm, we went outside of the main train station and bought soft drink for the trip home and bought my ticket, then got on the train. Our train was at about 6pm and it was really full. We got small seats and were kept entertained by a German business man turning to speak English, then 2 other people who were travelling and only spoke English. We got off the train at Bürgeln and walked home. We showed Julia's mum what we had bought and then sat down in the lounge room.
After a little bit dinner was ready and we ate stirfry with rice. We all went back into the lounge, Paul and Julia's dad continued to watch Star Wars and Julia's mum and I sat on the couch.
We eventually made Julia play the German of Trouble with us, whilst drinking Apple wine. I of course, won, only with the help of Julia's dad because they play it strangely. I then got a phone call from home and spent half an hour talking to my mother while everyone went to bed. I got to bed after 12am.
I didn't get to take any photos today... Woops.
